Pop Century is home to three pool areas – the main Hippy Dippy Pool, the quiet Computer Pool located in the 1990s section, and the Bowling Pin Pool located in the 1950s section.
While we love all the pools at Pop Century we are particularly fond of the Bowling Pin Pool.
Shaped like a giant bowling pin, the pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and umbrella tables – ample seating for guests even on hot summer days! If you look closely at the concrete around the pool you’ll notice that it looks just like a bowling alley floor. You just have to love the attention to detail at Disney!
At the end of the pool area there are racks of bowling balls – fake of course – that also lend to the authenticity of the bowling alley theme. And the guest laundry located near the pool is fashioned to resemble the shoe counter at a bowling alley.
Aside from the fun themeing of the pool we also love the location! If you’re lucky enough to be in the 1950s section (our favorite) you’re a hop, skip, and a jump away from the pool. While enjoying a lazy day at the pool you can also take a short walk to Everything Pop to grab a snack or refill your resort refillable mug. And the grownups in the group can walk over to the Petal Pool bar for an afternoon Moscato Colada or Banana Cabana.
One tip for Pop Century guests – towels are not provided at the pool and while you can bring your hotel room towels to the pool we recommend packing beach towels from home. On our most recent stay there were several days when there was a “towel shortage” with Mousekeeping.
